Vendange Series
“Vendange” is the French term for grape harvest. The paintings are comprised entirely from the colors of harvest---golden hues, crimson reds, and the deep purple of pinot noir. In many works, the striking spectrum of harvest colors glow with the warmth of an Indian summer afternoon. Often painted immediately after harvest, the need for the winemaker turned artist to rest after the intensity of crush can be felt in the peaceful serenity depicted in the painting.
